Fritz Expel-P is designed specifically as an anthelmintic (anti-worm) and immunostimulant agent for use in both freshwater and saltwater environments. This effective and efficient solution helps to quickly and safely combat nematodes, roundworms, nodular worms, and hookworms and will not harm the delicate bio-filter, plants invertebrates or other uninfected fish. The solution can also be used as a coral dip to as a way to treat infections of flatworms and pest nudibranchs. For greater functionality, Expel-P helps to boost the immune strength of fish. Does not treat Cestodes (tapeworms) or Trematodes (flukes). Each packet contains 113 mg of levamisole hydrochloride. Comes in a pack of 20.
Preparations:
The use of a quarantine tank is highly recommended. No water changes, pH or temperature adjustments are necessary if the readings are within the ideal range (Freshwater pH 6.4 - 7.6 / Saltwater 8.0 -8.4, temperature 68° to 82° F). Remove all chemical filtration (carbon, ion exchange resins) both before and during use and turn off any UV sterilizers if present during treatment. Aeration and water flow should be maintained throughout the process. In marine aquariums turn off protein skimmer during treatment and resume use only after completion of treatment.
The active ingredient within Expel-P is quite light sensitive and works best when the aquarium lights have been turned off for the duration of the treatment. Expel-P is stable in water for up to 90 days and will perform properly in aquariums at any pH level. Note: Fritz ParaCleanse will not color or cloud aquarium water.
Directions:
Use 1 packet of Expel-P per 10 gallons of aquarium water. Perform a 25% water change to remove the excreted worms and parasites after 24 hours. Repeat the cycle one more time and one week later to prevent reinfection. Repeat weekly treatments as necessary.
Coral Dip Directions:
Use three packets of Expel-P per two gallons of aquarium salt water. Place affected corals into the dip solution for up to 30 minutes with adequate water flow to assist in removal of worms. Once the worms have stopped falling off, the coral can be returned to the display or quarantine tank. The treatment does not affect eggs. Treatment can be repeated once per week, up to a maximum of three times.
