The Salifert Silicate Test Kit is a laboratory-grade titration kit that measures silicate in a reef marine aquarium. Silicate mainly comes from tap water or poorly filtered RO/DI water a spike triggers a bloom of brown diatoms on sand and glass. This kit lets you validate top-off water quality and confirm a properly functioning RO/DI system. Precision: 0,15 ppm enough to catch a spike before diatoms take off. Range: 0 to 3 ppm with 0.15 ppm precision. Number of tests: 30 tests per kit. Clean-color-change titration no subjective reading. Instructions, dosing syringe and test vials included. Erroneous results might be obtained when the carbonate hardness is higher that 20dKH. This corresponds to an alkalinity of 7meq/l. Normally the carbonate hardness is well below the above mentioned values. Measurement range: 0 to 3 ppm with 0.15 ppm precision
